Teflon tapes, used as insulating tapes to seal the threads of water pipes in overpressure systems such as central heating or in air assembly plants. Wrap the exposed threads with Teflon tape before screwing them in place. The tape is flexible, non-deformable and impermeable. In the threads of the joints, it thus serves as a seal against water and air.

One of the characteristics of Teflon tape is that it can withstand friction. up to the point of deformation, which creates a separate seal.
